Vincent A. Quarterman, 63, of Neptune, New Jersey passed away on Saturday January 14, 2023, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Sommerset, New Jersey. He was born in Dover, Delaware and moved to Neptune, New Jersey where he grew up. Vincent then moved to Plainfield where he resided for the remainder of his life. Vincent graduated from Neptune High School and continued his education where he graduated from Rutgers university and received his Bachelor of Art in Journalism and then continued on to obtain a Master’s degree from Capella University in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Upon completing his education Vincent went on work in the Hospitality industry where he retired in 2021. Vincent enjoyed Photography, Traveling, and Spending time with family and friends.
Vincent was known for his culinary genius and creativity. Vincent was also known amongst his scholarly and local community for his writings, poems, and literary creativity. In 2013, he published his first book ‘This Gift Called Me: Wings for One’s Spirit,’ and continued to work on multiple writing projects throughout his career. He was predeceased by his beloved father Jessie Edward Quarterman, his loving mother Daisy Mae Quarterman, his brothers Jessie Edward Quarterman Jr , Kenneth Quarterman and Michael Quarterman. He leaves to mourn his siblings Veronica Smothers of Toms River, NJ, Vanessa Garrett and husband Joe Garrett of Neptune, NJ, Bruce Quarterman of Asbury Park NJ, Linda Hunt and husband Danny Hunt of Neptune NJ, and Amanda Quarterman of Eatontown NJ and a host of cherished nieces and nephews. Friends and family are welcomed to attend Vincent Alvin Quarterman’s memorial service which will be at Living Word Christian Fellowship located in Neptune, New Jersey on Saturday, January 28th , 2023. Vincent’s celebration of life will start at 1pm and he will be eulogized by his spiritual father, Pastor Tommy D. Miles. Flowers are being received at Living Word Christian Fellowship 81 Highway 35, Neptune, NJ 07753, on the day of the service.
