WALTER E. RUBY, 47, of NEPTUNE, died Tuesday Dec. 26, 2006 at Kensington Manor Nursing and Rehab Center, Toms River. He was born in Neptune and lived in the shore area all his life. He received bachelor and master degrees from Indiana State University. He was employed by the Hinks Turkey Farm, Ocean Township, as a cook and salad maker for 20 years. He played the trumpet for Ocean Grove Summer Band, Atlantic Wind Ensemble and the Great Shore Concert Band.
He was predeceased by his parents, Walter A. Ruby in 2006 and Doris C. Ruby in 1985. Surviving are one brother, Richard W. Ruby of Neptune; one first cousin, Diane R. and her husband William Egley of Stamford, Conn; and second cousins, Joseph A. Brown II of Texas and Annemarie Mushen Brown of Washington.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Francioni, Taylor & Lopez Funeral Home, 1200 10th and Atkins Ave., Neptune. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will be at the convenience of the family.
